June 2026: Less waiting, easier browsing
Background jobs, clearer status, visual browsing, and downloads made images and voiceovers easier to manage.

June was about making images and speech easier to work with. These jobs can take time, produce a lot of files, and occasionally finish later than a browser expects.
Put the work in a queue
Image and voiceover creation gained queued batches and individual job status.
Picture a creative preparing several directions for a pitch. One image takes longer than the others. A voiceover needs another attempt. Three images are ready. A queue makes it possible to treat those as separate pieces of work and see what happened to each one.
We improved recovery after interrupted requests and added protection against duplicate retries. Clicking again while something is already running should not casually turn one intended request into two.
The fuller Live and Done experience arrived later, in September. June laid the groundwork by moving more of the actual creation into tracked background jobs.
Browse the results as a gallery
History gained a visual gallery view alongside the list view, for images and voiceovers. The chosen view was remembered, and repeat visits could reuse recent loading results.
If you are looking for the warm-looking portrait from an earlier session, pictures are often faster to recognise than a list of timestamps. If you are checking the exact prompt, the list and result details still matter. Both ways of browsing had a place.
We also added dependable download actions for generated images and speech, and expanded the common handling for retrieving media files.
Nano Banana 2 also joined the image choices, giving people another way to explore an idea. A new model can be useful when you want to compare how the same product or scene is interpreted.
